I received the package a little before 7 pm. Opened the box. Read the instructions. Spent a bit of time trying to identify the filter. Then practiced turning it from perpendicular to the battery to parallel with the battery so that I could access the door. And, practiced taking the filter apart to clean it. Then, turned the filter so that the door pointed toward the battery again. Then, read the instructions for the various fountain effects, chose one, and installed. Very easy. By this time, it was after 7 pm. I took the pump outside to the birdbath, cleaned the birdbath, changed the water, and put the new solar water pump in the water. I did not expect anything to happen because the sun was going down and it has been a rainy, cloudy day. But, the fountain started immediately! Wow!

We've had this for a little under a month now and we have it in a bird bath. It worked brilliantly at first, even with very little light. During daylight hours, it would be running constantly, barring an overcast or rainy day. The backup battery would keep it going when there was a cloud coming over or for a little longer after the sun set. We don't see a lot of heavy traffic at our bird bath but I check the fountain and bath daily for leaves and anything that might clog it. We're very meticulous about our bird bath cleanliness.

Very easy to install. I installed it in a kiddie pool to cirulate water for my dogs. Its is very simple to set up my daughter whos 9 helped me set this up and it took us no time at all. It is an amazing price i was looking to get one before at homedepot and the price was so much more

Great little fountain for a bird bath. It comes on right when the sun comes up then stays on a couple of hours after sun sets depending on how sunny it was during the day

There are a LOT of bird bath fountains on the market right now. Two things to look for are how many watts (the power) and built in battery (keeps it going). Many of the fountains only have 1.5W and some don't have a battery. That means that the fountain will be wimpy and if a cloud passes in front of the sun, it will die. This fountain also has a variety of heads. The more ports, the lower the shower. The single port sprays straight up quite high. That may not be suitable for most bird baths, as the spray will be blown away from the bird bath by the slightest breeze. A multi-port head is most suitable for most. This fountain can be free floating or anchored. The suction cups will only help if you have a glass like surface to attach it to and it's exactly so far beneath the surface. I've ordered a bird bath to put this fountain in. My set up should be complete in a couple of days. I like this fountain and gladly give it five stars.
