  Since 2018 until now 2022 we are still using the item for our pet ducks. Durable Would totally recommend it to anyone with backyard chicken or ducks.

  No instructions on how to train chickens to use this item. Item was also too light to operate effectively when only partially full of feed as when chickens stepped on plate the unit would tip forward preventing feeder from working effectively. Works well once chickens are trained and feeder is kept full. Ideal for feeding while keeping pests like pigeons and mice from accessing feed.to train chickens I propped the lid partially open with a couple of clothes pegs till chickens learned how to step on plate to open. then gradually reduced opening once behavior was learned.

  This was really well made and works well but our chickens are scared of it and we need to prop it open which defeats the purpose.

  I have found this item to be a god send. previously my hens were wasting their food all over the floor of the hen house now they eat what they want without spreading it everywhere. It took a couple of days training till they could operate the mechanism themselves and I only have to fill up every 3 days.

  This item is well made small assembly required the chickens are slowly getting used to it and learning to open it Design is waterproof and rodent safe.Would recommend this product.

  Chook feeder work great robust and well made. took the fowls a day or so to work it out. but now im only feeding them not the vermin or sparrows

  Product is as described but my chickens are scared of it. If they stand on the platform they flap about in a panic when the lid flies up. The same happens when they get off the platform and the lid snaps shut.A soft openclose feature would make this product ideal. As it is the chickens only use the feeder if I open and close the lid for them. Not very practical
